error msg "broken b-frame"

i have installed ffdshow and kop's xvid codec.
but when i was playing the clip, the error msg "broken b-frame, missing ref frame" always occur". and the clip was not played smoothly.
i tried to remove all the code and reinstall all of the them. problems remain. can any one help me?

were those latest versions of xvid and ffdshow?

i tried.
codec is XviD-22032003-1(koepi)
ffdshow is ffdshow-20030103 alpha.
problem remains
but i found a strange thing
if i disable the ffdshow support of xvid codec. then the clip can be played smoothly. however. during playing, if i jump forward the clip. then the playing screen would be stopped, though sound remains.
