no such place, but you could suggest this to admin

      "albeit all choppy, and stuff"

are your pc specs sufficient for smooth playback?

        Just my 2cents worth...

Doesn't FFDShow already take care of DivX 5.xx playback? So why install the codec (ad-wared) when you are only watching and not encoding movies.

Secondly, since you said that you are clueless about these stuff... I suggest that you DON'T try MV2 Player... it's too advanced (in an event that you have the wrong impression about the player which is one of the best players around IMHO). BS Player should do the job fairly well... but you can't go wrong with Media Player Classic... it's idiot-proof.

Finally, what are your system specs? (or have you already mentioned them?)

All right gentlemen... I think we've found the solution to his problem...

No hard feelings but your computer (cpu) is not exactly the best movie playback machine around... worst of all it's a compaq...

Try getting a more powerful machine and your problems will be a thing of the past.

For increased perfomance in WinXp (by sacraficing apperance):

control panel -> system -> Advanced(Tab) -> Performance Settings -> 'Adjust for best performance -> apply

this should help your playback. let us know how it goes.

go back to 2000! I think it's not a good config to run a XP on a 350mhz cpu with only 160mo ram!
