    Movie won't play

I'm running Windows XP and I could not get the following movie to play on WMP. It plays fine on VD and ZoomPlayer though.

Then simply use Zoomplayer to play the file. It' not uncommon for WMP (version 8 or 9, presumably) to be having odd problems with video files...

I have some more playback problems. Some movies (Divx MPEG-4) play very choppy on WMP, BS, and Zoom. However, it plays smoothly on Divx Player like it does in VD. Why is there such discrepancies?

Also, can you tell me how I can manage my codecs in Win XP and what codecs you generally need to play back most movies including those in .mpeg format in Win XP?

the divx5.1 decoder is said to be fast, still i prefer FFDSHOW as playback filter

maybe you should give it a try and compare the performance

your version of ffdshow seems to be too old, get the latest alpha one...

I tried the alpha version, but the playback is still very blocky. I think the problem is I've installed too many codecs than I'm suppose to. How do I manage codecs in WinXP?
