I was thinking that it may be possible to burn DVD quality video (say 20 minutes) to a CD-R. (Not SVCD)
I've tried to burn this to a CD-R as a DVD, but of course, the software says my media is wrong. (says it's CD-R not DVD-R)
I've also tried to burn the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS directories to the CD-R as data, but it won't play on my DVD player.
Mind you, when I did this, the DVD player did spin the disc, and actually play, but there was no video or audio. I suppose in order to get this much data off a CD-R to play the video correctly, the CD must spin at a faster speed..... this may be OK for a computer with multi speed drives, but I guess a DVD player will only spin at certain speeds.
I think that most, if not all DVD players, will not be able to play such a CD-Rs.
Anybody have some comments or suggestions?
One other question:
If you have the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS directories all in the correct format, and you just burn them to a blank DVD-R, they will not work in a DVD player. Is that because you have to burn them as a DVD, so that it puts a "label" or similar onto the DVD-R to tell the DVD player that it's a DVD movie??
