    Green screen appears randomly?!?!

    Hi all,

Had a look round this and various other forums and found plenty of people who have probs with playback and green screens. However, unlike them, my video files play back fine at first, then at some random point the green screen appears. I have a geforce 5600 gfx card plugged into my TV, with the fullscreen setting enabled and the green screen only appears on the TV picture. The sound also goes jerky at this point. If I shut down and restart the player I can watch through the same point with no probs, but eventually the green screen appears again. It happens on all avi files (divx3, 5 and xvid files tried).

I know the problem is probably down to drivers, but it seems strange that it should start randomly part way through playback :\

    Can anyone offer help/advice please.

    Thanks all,
    Elbubsio

have you already scanned your files for stream errors?

use virtualdubMOD and go to video => scan for errors

Haven't used virtualdub, but have checked several files with gspot. It seems unlikely though that ALL of my files have probs. I have managed to solve this prob once (don't know how, just noticed one day that the error hadn't occured for ages). All the same hardware so i can only assume it's a driver/codec issue.

      Thanks for the suggestion though
