          I agree. I use Windvd for dvds and playing from a folder. WMP 9 for divx and xvid. VLC for all others, what can you say vlc plays most anything you throw at it.

                I've tried vcl its quite good at a certain point but certainly does not have features as power dvd or win dvd have.

                Is there any option for pan scan perhaps i have an old version.

                  Well, i chose WMP9. When you have'nt got the SRS WOW effects and you have'nt got the equaliers on (and configured properly) then the sound is crap, but once you have it's like listening to an MP3 version of a home cinema. Especially when i have my hi-tech hedaphones on anyway.

                  P.S that's my view on it anyway.

                    I don't think that sound is crap without srs wow.Infact if you try
                    another player such as power dvd you will have plently of options
                    where you can have your brilliant sound such as virtual dolby thu surround etc and lot better than srs.Atferall wmp9 doesn't offer that much considering all the s*** it has.

                    Even power dvd has the srs option but i tend to disbale it since there are plently of better sound options.
