Removing Useless Codec ??

Here's the deal i got 2 computer .

Both have : Divx 5 , Divx 3.11 Alpha and Xvid install.

But on 1 i installed some other package before that i found all around the net and now from the ADD/REMOVE LIST , there's only thos 3 showing .

But when i try to play a movies in the Dirty installed one it doesn't play , and we i put the cd in the Clean installed one it plays fine.

Both have the same codec showing in add/remove programs.

How can i remove all the codec except those that come with windows and start fresh again ?

tsunamis codec sniper might help you getting rid of unwantted filters/codecs - on the other hand you should be familiar with what you're removing

maybe trying to solve your playback problem might be a better idea

i recommend FFDSHOW as a very good universal playbackfilter

install this and set ffdshow as default playback filter for all possible formats (should be possible during installation)
