Problem: high cpu usage during playback

    Hallo,

i've following problems during playback of xvid encoded videos:

The video is playing very slow (like slow motion) and
the cpu usage is nearly 100%. I tried to install several versions
and builds of the xvid codec but it still doesn't work.

But it's curious that these problems only occur on my
    desktop machine:

    Intel Celeron 2000
    ASUS P4-X Mainboard
    512MB RAM
    ATI XPert 2000 32MB VGA

On my laptop the video plays perfect and smooth.
    (Toshiba, 1.8 GHz, 256 RAM, MR6 VGA)

    SOLUTION:
Well, today i found a setting which fix my problem.
I just set the ouput mode to 'YUY2' in the setting dialog of
    the codec. I used Koepi's XVID BUILD 1.0 RC3.

Did somebody have the same problem? (high CPU usage)
Are there other settings relevant for this problem?
Can somebody explain this to me?

    Thankx.

    Greets, kei

ffdshow might be a much less demanding playbackfilter

    give it a try
