I also have a 4.1 setup with a creative pci512. I used to run ME and have made Divxs with ac3 streams. I registered the iviaudio file but didn't have 4.1 audio to start with. If u use graphedit or powerdivx, u can see how many channels you are outputting to and also are able to set how many channels thro the iviaudio filter. However, on my ME setup, i could only get 4.1 by using the waveoutput rather than directsound output. So I suggest u try this (dont ask me why it worked for me but it did).
Hope it helps. I also have a problem however.
Now i have installed XP and put PowerDVD XP on. This didn't give me 4.1 sound so put back on the original version as before which worked for DVDs. Then i put back on WinDVD 2.3 as before but this didn't allow me to select 4/6 speaker output (it was grayed out). So then i upgraded to WinDVD 3 and this gave me 4.1 surround for DVDs. The trouble is, the new windvd filter doesn't work for divxs (the filter dialog looks different for divxs). I cant revert to the old iviaudio filter coz the option is grayed out.
Whats going on? Ive tried both Waveoutput and directsound but still the option is grayed out. Is WinDVD 3 using two filters (ie one that works for DVDs and one for divxs? If so how do i use the DVD one for divxs?
