Sound is tinny and video slowing down

I ripped a movie and when I put it together using Vdub 1.4.7 the sound is tinny. It sounds like I'm listening to it through a metal pipe. How do i get rid of this. Also the movie slows down in certain parts when i play it with the sound. If i play the version without the sound, then it dosen't slow down. What am I doing wrong??

is your sound stream fine BEFORE muxing iot to the video?

if so, try another tool for muxing. a different version of vd or nandub.

maybe even your playback settings should be looked into:

do not use joint stereo for mp3 playback - go for stereo.

The audio is perfect before I join the video and the audio.
