AC3 Sound lost when pausing or Fast Forwarding

I've just encoded my first Divx video with an AC3 audio stream. The AC3 sound is fine when I play the file from the beginning, however, if I pause, Fast Forward or Rewind the video, the sound is lost? Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? I am using the AC3 filter from Sourceforge.

I have the exact same problem. I have tried a number of players, and various movies.
One thing I have not tried yet is switching from Direct Sound to Wave Out, but that doesn't seem promising.
I will post here when I figure it out.

"I've just encoded my first Divx video with an AC3 audio stream."

Is the audio interleaved (it should be) with the video?

What tool have you used to mux the AC3 into the AVI container ???

What kind of interleaving (if) have you used for the muxing ???

Maybe de-muxing and re-mux the AC3 stream helps...

Wave out or Direct Sound did not make a difference, however, I found I could get the AC3 stream back by switching to ProLogic or any other speaker out, and then switching back to SPDIF.
I doubt interleaving is a problem otherwise, the sound would have trouble resyncing using any output.
