And if it has AC3 audio, you need something called AC3Filter...

Ok, I have tried FFDSHOW and other XVID codecs but when I try to play an XVID file in WMP I get the following message.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
Do I need to do anything to the files I am trying to play before hand or is does it sound like I have a bad file?
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.Comment

1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub
2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"
3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information boxLast edited by setarip; 23 Nov 2004, 06:00 PM.Comment

UncasMS,
OK, did both of those and got this message.
"Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported."
I'm thinking I have a bad file maybe. Guess I'll go try to find another file to try out and see if maybe I am just doing something wrong.
Thanks for the help.Comment
