    Missing Codec, Please Help

I downloaded a video that I play with DivX, but there is no sound, here is the audio stream information:

    Sampling Rate: 48000 Hz
    Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Sample precision: N/A
    Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
    Layout: 176636 chunks (0.50s preload)
    Length: 165039682 samples (1:38:14.27)
    Min/avg/max/total frame size: 776/934/14000 (161172k)
Data rate: 224 kbps (2.50% overhead)

when I saved the wav and tried to play it, it said there's a codec I don't have, would anyone know what codec I need, based on this information?

I really appreciate the help, thanks.

i believe it is ac3 audio (tag 2000). do you not have the ac3 acm decompressor on your system?

if you have a codec problem in the future you can use avicodec or Gspot (both free) to see what codec/s are needed and if they are installed on your pc

                that's absolutely correct

0x2000 is the hexadecimal code and 8192 is the decimal code which every now and then is being listed by tools as well

install a decent ac3 filter like the one from alex vigovsky
