When I'm watching a DivX or XviD file (regardless of player) it will jump forward a second or two every 10-15 mins. This is really annoying as I obviously miss vital parts of dialogue sometimes.
I have searched this and other forums but whenever i find posts of the same problem, there is never a resolve posted. People seem to fix it and not say how they did it!
So, I'm pleading with the knowledgeable out there, is this a common problem and is there an easy way to fix it? I have tried numerous combinations of codec, player and settings but i'm obviously missing something.
My pc is only a year old and more than capable so i don;t think it's a hardware issue.
Any light you may light on the prob would be great
p.s. there is also a smooth playback prob, it's as if holds a frame for a split second every second or so. this isn't noticable in action scenes but when the camera is panning, it looks jerky.
