How to Extract Ahdio from a VCD?
Hi folks,
I am not sure if I have posted this in the correct Forum!?!?
Does anyone know of some "FREEWARE" that I can use to EXTRACT my music off of a VCD that I have. I want to get the music on a CD so I can play it in my car.
Thanks!Comment

many ways to do this. this is what i would do. all free tools. open VCD on pc to view files. copy and paste the file(s) you want to get music from onto a desired location on your pc. these .dat files simply rename the extension to ".mpg" (right click>properties). open the file(s) with tmpgenc (free version). go to file>mpeg tools>simple de-multiplex. it will make a m1v and mp2 file. open the mp2 audio with belight and convert to mp3. burn with nero or similar."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". wow. ok. well the wav files will be kind of big. but things just got easier. get virtualdub (free). open the dat file you renamed to mpg. under video>direct stream copy. under audio go to full processing mode, under audio again, go to conversion> check 48000Hz and tick high quality. go under audio again>compression select PCM (no compression) and click ok.finally go to file>save wav. voila."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". i always use 48000Hz for DVD encoding. but you are doing something else. what celtic druid is talking about is the compact disc digital audio standard which is 44100Hz--so use that one.
