    Burn MPG files

I have captured my video onto my computer using Sonic My DVD that came on my computer. However, this method takes to long and I can not burn some of my movies because they are too long. When I try to use DVD Shrink, I can not seem to get the files into the program to shrink them since they are MPG files. I have tried renaming the files but it still says that there is an error or that video files cannot be found. I really need some help. Also if anyone knows how to take my shows from my direct tv DVR and burn these shows onto DVD.

    Hello,
    Welcome to the forum.
DVD shrink is only going to open compatable dvd files. .mpg,.mpeg would be considred video cd files.
To burn them to a dvd you will need to convert the files to a compatable dvd file first. This is a time consuming proccess and is a bit advanced.

You may want to use nero burning rom to burn them as VCD there are programs out there that will split the vidoe files. Do a google search for vcd splitting tools.

Or others here may know of a program that you can do that with.

If you want to learn how to convert the files to DVD see this sub forum:

Talk about the TMPGEnc line of software, including TMPGEnc Express, MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc DVD Author
