Mov to Avi Prob seeking experts advice

I tried to read the stickys above and had prob converting HD trailers from apple.com/trailers to avi using Quicktime Pro

it seems after converting , the resolution of 1280 x 720 will drop to 1088 x 500+ but with sound

used other converter it has 1280x720 resolution but no sound ( using winavivideo and river past video cleaner pro )

do i need to set anything in order to have Quicktime Pro not reducing the resolution or is it just me....

or do i ned any video codecs to solve this....

pls any expert help me as i need this badly

keep in mind the guide is meant to encode for standalone compatibility, mpeg4/mpeg2.

are you after standalone playback, or for PC playback, and just don't like the mov container?

Intended to convert HD mov clips to avi or wmv HD clips so i can play it on SnaZio Net HD cinema player

it's a typo error that it can play MOV files , tested and checked with support it doesnt.

downloaded from apple.com/trailers and think that the prob might lies with the audio codec of mp4a of the HD clips is not recognised by the softwares i used to convert

Quicktime Pro did the job but the resolution is being dropped lower after converting

Is that any way or settings to make Quicktime Pro to stick to the original 1280x720?

doesn't look like it supports wmv (think they mean wmv HD dvd's). best to encode to either mpeg2 or xvid.

it do support wmv if were to encode in mpeg2 or xvid, what converter recommend to use?

My bad Quicktime Pro is able to convert to its original resolution ( just leave the player window @ what size u wanna convert to )

Using Quicktime Pro to export as avi makes the file unplayable still on the net HD player,
i suspect itz the bit rate coz after convert it shot up to 1536kbps....
hmmm trial and error's killing me as the net HD player is @ workplace...
any recommend settings of the bit rate? im using cinepak to encode, shall i change?

is it possible to crop and fit into a widescreen w/o showing black bars on top and bottom?
i tried full screen setting of the player and the aspect ratio is outstretched.

got a prob with autoGK that my converted xivd files are only 12bit...
reconverting by switching to max width hopfully it resolved the prob ups to 24bit
any expert advice?
