Star Wars EP2 - no video, no sound !

    Hello everybody,

I hope someone here can help me. I downloaded Star Wars Episode 2 but when I play it back, there's no sound & no video at all (on Media Player). On DivX Player it won't even open the file.

I've DivX 5.02 and the SMR codec installed and Virtual Dub says it's uncompressed RGB (see file attached).

    BTW, the filenames are:

(smr)Star Wars - Attack of The Clones NEW!(1of2).avi
(smr)Star Wars - Attack of The Clones NEW!(2of2).avi

How can I find out, which codecs it is and how can I find out, which I do have installed on my computer (using Win2K) ?

    TIA,

    Andreas

"Virtual Dub says it's uncompressed RGB (see file attached)."

    1) There is NO file attached to your post

    2) If VDub indicates it's uncompressed RGB, I assure you it's a FAKE file...

      Ooops, here's the attachement

Second, why do you think it's a fake ? It's playing ok in Media Player, just showing nothing at all and no sound. Who would make such a thing, I mean I downloaded other videos where the names where predicting more recent films, but here is nothing at all.

            Hi buddy,

Just a Suggestion to save your time,

Next time you download any movie with SMR ot TMD type download only 1 Mb - 5 Mb of that movie, pause it, copy it to another folder and open that copied file in Virtual Dub, if you see any movie this time, you can go ahead with that movie
            else, you kow what ?
            Hav FUN

Don't be naive - the same types of characters who spread viruses "just for fun"...

It's really funny when you said this.

                  OK,

shame to me for believing in the good of the people

Thanks for all the help and especially for the tip to pause the download and check what's really in there.

At least I can garantee, if you ever download something from A4XRBJ1 on Kazaa, that it's not a fake. I already deleted the two EP2 files, let's hope for other files that turn up.

I really don't understand people that share fake files. Honestly, would you give up bandwith for 4-8 hours so someone could download something they don't want? WTF?

There are plenty of mischevious people on the net, with too much time on their hands, and nothing better to do

If you want Star Wars Episode 2, I think the version to get has to be the one called -

                        Star.Wars.Episode.II.Attack.Of.The.Clones.TS-FTF

and also, to check if the file you are downloading is worthy, don't stop the download but copy and paste it and then try the copy, running div fix on it if needs be.

                            @ pancrack

the telesync version from FTF you're referring to has the worst quality.

SeVCD is better, CENTROPY's svcd is best.

This is the funniest thing I have read in a while. Someone is taking my movies and making elaborate fakes. Oh no run for the hills

read up the post and look at this guys other posts, what a dumb ass.
