play back problem to tv out

ok,.have a divix movie,.new labtop loaded the codecs,
hooked it up through my tv,.everything works,
play movie works fin,.then 10-15 minutes in tot he movie just as im getting relaxed,.

major system error it crashes and reboots the computer,.

it reboots becouse its a system defult,. (whenever computer encounters a major error)

play the same movie on the other labtop nto hooked up tot he tv,.
plays fine,..hook that labtop up to the tv,.......works fine,

labtop 1 (the problems) only has divix 5.0

labtop 2 i use to encode everythign on so it
has everything in terms of divx related software,.


any ideads on what the problem could be?

updating your system chipset driver might be a start.

are the codecs identical?

well isnt the new divic codec supsoe to cover it all?

but the divix plays fine for the first 10-15 minutes


how do i go about updating a my chipset?
isnt that a sutomated function of XP/?

- i doubt the latest divx5 codec 'covers it all'

- i had a similar phenomenon quite some time ago after i built a new pc:
playing an avi file worked sometimes. other times the pc suddenly did a reboot. updating the via 4in1 driver solved the problem for me.
