    converting files

Ok, I'm trying to convert this file using MediaCoder but it keeps saying ranscodeing is not successful. I dont know if i have it on the wrong settings tho is there a way I can see if I have it on the right settings.
I've also tried SUPER but it only did the 1st 5min for some reason.

Do you want to convert the AVI to DVD?
Then use AVI2DVD [use inbuilr HEnc Encoder] to do the conversion and afterwards burn the resultant DVD image with ImgBurn.

what if I have more than one AVI file and I need to put them all on the same DVD would I have to merge all 26 of them together to make one big file?

                  Hi 7714,

I am assuming that you want to play these AVI clips on your home dvd player ... and possibly your dvd player is NOT a DivX/XviD (AVI) capable and that is why you want to convert them from AVI to DVD.

                  1) You don't have to join up your AVI's in order to play them in one continuous way ... once you get the order correct on your DVD before you burn it as "Data" if they are left in AVI format ... you are ready to go.

                  2) But to answer your Q ... Yes you can join your AVI's ... there are "Shareware" out there that does a good job ... or you can use Freeware.

A Freeware like VirtualDub ... and there are some guides posted on this forum.

I have tried some Shareware on "Trial" basis and it worked A-OK ... as long as your AVI clips are of the "Same" format ... but I can not recall the name ... just google for it and you'll see it ...

Also a program called TMPGEnc ... that does joining of MPEGs ... but it is not a freeware.

                  Hope this helps.

                  G!

IMHO, joining AVIs using VirtualDub will on most occasion can cause serious audio synchronization problem. Still it is worth trying, but check the complete result afterwards before burning it on the DVD.

Let me suggest one more way:

You can use AVISynth for joining. It is the best tool, though requires some learning from a newbie.

Download that and add the files in the order you want them. DivX2DVD will then give you one huge title with all those files.
