    DV to DVD

Guys, I'm sure that this may have been covered before, but I need to find a solution reasonably quickly, if possible.

I have a friend that has recorded a fishing trip. He has transferred the DVD file to his PC as a WMV and now wants to burn to DVD. I know this is tricky, but should he be saving the DVD file as another format or what?

    Any help appreciated.

    Kevin

Does your friend still have.... WHAT exactly??

    DV material from a cam?

Either way the material will have to vonverted to DVD compliant format/material.

So one needs to know what program does he have and what input format?

He has a .wmv file which he said he load on to the PC from the DV camera.
I think he just used XP software.
He has Nero, but it only looks like a version that was included with the PC.

I was looking at avi2DVD. Would this be any good to him?

        Hi Kevin,

I just looked at AVI2DVD site and it does say that it can take WMV input ... let's hope that it is WMV version that AVI2DVD handles ... it is a Freeware and a Trusty one so why not TRY it and post back.

          Will do Gonwk.
It might be a few weeks though, as I'm heading away from his area tomorrow.

            Try DVD Flick...
            You raise the blade,
            You make the change,
You rearange me till I'm sane.
You lock the door, throw away
            the key,
            There's someone in my head
            and it's not me.

              Hi Kevin,

I have to change my vote and go with PinkFloyd's recommendation ...

Go with "DVD Flick" much easier and dummy-proof (for folks like me)

              Good luck!

Thanks guys, will give DVDFlick ago.
I already have it but didn't realise that it converted files.

I tried out that AVI2DVD earlier this morning, but although it said it was free you had to buy the removal key for the watermark it puts on the converted file.

Another Freeware gone CRAZY ... I guess these guys have to do it to make some money to keep up their websites and continue to develop the software.

But I wonder if AVI2DVD is on FFMPEG or somebody's "Hall of Shame" for using an Open Source and Charging MONEY!

Oh well!!! I never was very crazy about it to begin with ... was a moody software ... may be is better now ... I will try it ... just to see if it is gotten better.

Kevin THANKS for the heads up on the Watermark & Key Deal.
