Cinema Craft Encoder - Basic

Hey guys:

I have looked around for an instruction guide for this proggy and I haven't found much. I have heard that it's more accurate and faster than Pega-sys's TMPGEnc encoder. I wanted to give it a try and see if it is. Are there any help guides here??

im not so sure about speed anymore, nor can check as im on seven now and tmpgenc doesnt support it yet, maybe ill try the new trial. but last time i run cinema craft long time back it can do twice the realtime speed from dv to dvd mpeg2. means 1 hr dv to mpeg2 in 30 mins without any filters.

i have never used tmpgenc for any such comparison but we did use and compare hcenc vs. cce or procoder quite a bit in the dvd rebuilder forum and one can say that for a total freeware encoder, hcenc is not only fantastic quality but it is also quite fast though not as fast as cce iirc

what kind of material is it you want to convert?

dv => dvd ?

Hank315 (author of HCEnc) has posted these results some time ago, which showed that his encoder was a little faster/slower than cce basic depending on the quality settings used:
