    Audio out of sync

I just encoded some mpeg files to divx 3.11 and mp3 audio compressions soI could get them smaller in size. When I play them back at the begining the audio is in sync but as they progress it gets slowly out of sync. Can I fix this by extracting the audio with Virtualdub to wav and then re adding it in an re compressing to mp3? Or how would I fix this?

It's possible that your system is barely capable of running the encoded mpeg files, esp. if you have a low-MHz CPU and high-resolution video.

And what is the resolution of the video? Include also the bitrate you assigned for the encoding.

This is the info according to RAD tools

            width 352
            height 240
            color depth 24
            fps 29.9
            milliseconds per frame 33.4
            total size 62,234,624
            average data rate 47,456
            average frame size 1,583
            44100KHz, stereo sound data

I encoded the mpeg with virtualdub, divx 3.11 low motion @ 250 (or was it 300?) bitrate with 44100 KHz, 128 stereo mp3

Try increasing the video bit rate to 700 or so...

its too late for me to do this as I have already deleted the mpegs.

So is it the bitrate, that is my problem?
