Thanks for clarifying that tigerman. It is quite a bit OT but, yes, I recall seeing one of those current affiars programs which highlighted this group.

While feeling sad for their plight (as a divorced father myself), the attire seems a bit out of the 40s. AFAIK, they are not a neo-nazi group, however. Is that what you were getting at?

I apologize if I was misinterpreted. In no way do I see them as a neo-nazi group. Actually I admire them for standing up for their beliefs/rights. The www.fathers-4-justice.org is doing the same in the UK. They have organizations in several countries and have recently come to the US. They're the group that got the media's attention by doing the spiderman and batman stunt/s in the UK. They even hit Tony Blair with two condoms filled with purple flour. In the states we also have the "father's and children's equality" (FACE) organization. And yes I am a divorced father with a minor daughter. That is why I keep up on this. We are currently lobbying state governments for equalized time with our children. Some of these 50/50 (shared custody) bills have now passed in some states.

I apologize if I got off the original thread. If anybody wants to move these posts or start a new thread on this subject please feel free to do so or let me know and I will.

It's not only in Australia. As I stated above it is/has been happening in many countries. I can point you to many articles from reknown newspapers in different countries that tell of the autracities that have been done to non-custodial parents (NCP) mostly fathers.

Understood. It is a horrible situation to be in, I am sure. Fathers love their children no less than mothers and just because they are not usually in such a nuturing role as mum and can be away from home during the day (as can mothers I might add), we can be perceived as somehow less close to our kids. Somehow, we supposed to feel less when they are ripped away from us.

Luckily for me, my first divorce was a velvet one. My X realised that we needed to communicate regularly and in fact we are now very good friends and have always made decisions regarding OUR children jointly. I never had any of the problems that some of these folks in the "Blackshirts" have. I see my kids whenever I and/or they want and actually believe the relationships were bettered by the separation because we somehow cared more for the times we had together. But I know I am an exception and not the rule and these unfortunate NCPs right around the world can feel very very frustrated that the State will not let them see their loved ones.

Still, I can not fathom why here in Oz, they go around looking like Neo Nazis hiding their faces.

Actually I thought the bird (dove) was a sign of peace/truce with somebody/s. But now I'm wondering why his avatar suggests he is on his back jumpimg and kicking and somebody else's avatar is standing upright jumping and kicking ?
