Im using this pole to try to ascertain whether Ritek still has the larger foothold in the market of DVD R. Please state whether you mainly use Ritek or Princo media or select other if neither of the two mentioned.

Ritek/Primedisk are a more expensive and harder to find tham princo at least here in Portugal but I think they really worth the extra troble and the extra money, Princo really suck there are a lot of players that refuse to play them and some recorders dont acept them very well (sony).
But back to the poll I voted ritek because its really the ones I'm looking for only when I can't find them or they are really expensive (over 2USD) I will go for princo's and maxell (mmore dvd-r and sky dvd-r)Comment

I had to vote for Princo, as that is what I have been able to get my hands on, but am waiting for my first batch of Riteks, with anticipation, as Princo frankly are crapComment

princo ain't that bad
I'll admit that I've had a few problems with the playback of Princo Discs. I've been buying the cheap 1x discs for $1.45 CDN and out of 50 discs I've had 2, that after completing burning, wouldn't play all the way through on my DVD-R drive let alone standalone players. Unfortunately I have access only to DVD+R discs and can't compare, but for the price I'm pretty happy with the Princos and the price of the 4x discs is falling fast.Comment

i use Princos and havent experienced that many problems. Power callibration error i have had but that has been when i have changed media. 4 speed burning normally works fine for me. This is using the Pioneer 105 minus burner.
Using 'Goodies' now as they are better than Princo so see what i can get my hands on of course and how cheap...???Comment

Ritek.
Here's something interesting I found out today after running the DVD Plus Identifier program.
Both the Memorex 4x +R and the Verbatim 2.4x +R are both made
by Ritek. Both have worked flawlessly - made over 40 backups
without any coasters or problems.Comment
